Something else I realize, is that of all of those games in that poll. Earthworm Jim is the only game in that list that is NOT a Genesis exclusive.

More people having played a game in its time = more votes.
Also, sorry to burst your bubble but Earthworm Jim IS a better game than the first SOR.

I always liked Earthworm Jim, it was colorful, funny, cool, and it was fun to play.
Also marketing was huuuge for Earthworm Jim, a cartoon, toys, commercials, the works!

so no wonder its doing so well.


Shame they ruined the series though, but hey the almighty 3D called.

I'm not saying Earthworm Jim is a bad game, It was definitely a unique action platformer shooter title in the vien of Contra or Metal Slug, but with more cramped levels and exploration. the graphical style was also unique. And the sprite work for the game still holds up well after all these years.

But my argument for is simply on the sake is that was not platform exclusive for the Sega Genesis. It also released on the SNES as well.

I was hoping that for the 20th Anniversary for the Genesis, they would have included only titles that were noteworthy that were found only on the Genesis and no other platform.

I mean if it was time for the SNES 20th Anniversary and Nintendo was going to do something similar then I'd expect the same fair treatment of a list of games that made the SNES stand out on it's own compared to the other consoles of it's era.

Great fucking game. I bought it last summer and played all the way up to the end in one day, died at the last boss and didnt feel like getting back to him. Havent touched it since!
