Modern-SOR like for PC ?

Hi all,

I have been playing at SOR (all !) for long long years, and I'm desperate to not find any beat them all on PC (or arcade game playable with MAME par exemple) that can be fun and modern (playable by internet etc.).

Do you guys know some brilliant beat them all games with the same quality than this wonderfull SOR Remake that I could play with my friends ?

There is nothing out there to match SoRR v5.

One good game there is not as good as SORRV5 but still good fun witch is on mame is crime busters by konami also another good one on mame is the simpsons 4 player that is really good fun to play.

As far as a beat'em up for the PC goes the only one that he the potentional for matching the succees for Streets of Rage remake would be Streets of Rage 4 which is a fangame in development. I know that it's unfair to try to compaire it to SORR since Streets of Rage 4 is going to be in 3D, but from the ideas that it'll include i've seen it holds a lot of promise.

Yeah I know that, but not sure it will be out one day... I think sega and co will make this project to stop, if it is not already done...

Sega should hire BomberGames this time and produce a true sequel to Streets of Rage in 3D or 2.5D.

If Sega keep trying to license it to other third parties, are likely to repeat the same failure of the Fighting Force, while BomberGames showed merit.

Dick stroking aside, there's quite a few mame arcade games out there that are pretty fun to play:
Alien vs Predator
Final Fight 1
Undercover Cops
Vendetta
Battle Circuit
Cadillacs & Dinosaurs
Golden Axe Return of Death Adder
Simpsons
plenty of Hero based games like Xmen, Spiderman, Punisher etc
NightSlashers
etc etc etc

Gotta be honest on the PC with all the emulators and such the list of quality beat em ups is pretty long. As far as fan projects go, the list is pretty short, v5 is pretty cream of the crop in that department but a few I suggest:
Golden Axe Remake - OpenBoR mod, pretty accurate remake. Damon Caskey is doing a pretty awesome overhaul of his own
NightSlashers X - another OBoR mod, I found this one pretty fun though the creator turned out to be an ass so any bugs in there have to be fixed by whoever has it <_<
Fighting Spirit - pretty amazing OBoR mod imo gets pretty same-y after a while though
H.U.N.T.E.R - SoR Maker mod, if you haven't played this please do so, SoRR is only 2p offline but this mod offers quite the experience
Golden Rage - another gem of the SoR Maker mods quite fun especially if you know your way around the original golden axe games
