What Lorenzo said, and because hit sounds and character voices are all considered voices, they play in the same channel, so by default the game give priority to character voices, muting hits. This can be changed so that hits get priority over voices, except enemy dying screams that still plays over everything else. I did that on the sor3 turbo, I could swear I noted it somewhere but I'm not finding it now.. Anyway if you play sor3 turbo you'll notice the difference, for example if you get hit by the bulldozer you'll hear Donovan laughing, while on the original that can hardly be heard.

ok, is something that is programmed into the game,
what happens is that in the Sor 2, this does not happen. and each sound is clearly heard both hit and voices,
I thought that might change, this is one of the things I liked least in the SOR3.

and how it might change the priority to impacts?

Small update for Shiva.

I thought of doing something like that myself, adding the standup kick and the dragon kick special from the boss sprites, and put the final crash as blitz attack instead of special. But I lack motivation for it atm..

The camera hack was unintentional; I simply wanted to throw in Very Easy and Very Hard. I don't know what's causing that to happen. Also, I could earn score stars in a matter of a few points (i.e. 2000 rather than 40000). Final Crash as a Blitz Attack makes much more sense since Shiva runs up to you before he does that.

Oh, and when I died my character never blinks and just stayed there lying down. I think I know what's causing such weirdness: I have the "Player 1 and Player 2 can pick the same character" code activated/patched.

There has to be a way to fix Dr. Zero in Streets of Rage 3's Very Hard:



The claw disappears.

The game does not contain very hard information for bosses energy, amount of falling barrels on lvl 3, caterpillar velocity, level 6 clock and Dr. Dham machine speed. Some random data is used instead. That's why bosses have ridiculous amounts of energy bars, Dr Dham doesn't work, etc. Very hard is not a valid difficulty.
I suggest you to hack over the custom difficulty hack.

As for the oil drums, I tried copying some Hex Values from a BKIII ROM into my SoR3 ROM (one of them crashes the game). That should fix it for all difficulty settings. Values below 7C seem to cause only one barrel to appear, but 7C generates too many of them. I'll probably just remove Very Hard since it only works properly in Bare Knuckle III.

I also renamed the difficulty settings to EASY, EASY, NORMAL, VERY HARD, and ILLEGAL, but then that wouldn't make sense because 1. The default difficulty setting would say "HARD", and 2. "NORMAL" will end at Stage 5.

Recently I changed the default difficulty setting to Easy ("NORMAL"), now just to somehow make it so Stage 6 can be played after Stage 5.

bad news. there are one problem with the sor3 tx hack.

in the stage 3 "the construction site", when a barrel goes down and you are safe in the other side, several times you receive damage from the barrel.

is not too important, but i have to go fast over that stage part for not lose a life. also, one solution for this are press the A button for make the defensive special just when the barrel goes down.

is rare. but perhaps is like if the size of the char causes some kind of problem there...

edit: yeah, sure is that. now im the buldozer scene, where the machine hits you from far. again the defensive special or a jump kick forward can handle the situation there.

ps: cool another hack . but i think that about final fantasy, the chars from ffVII really can be more interesting for be more famous and also loved, you know. over all, i think in cloud and sephiroth chars.

about the sor-online hacks...
for some raison i dont see the post or the download of the "bk3 enemys palette ips hack". im almost sure that maybe that ips also goes to nothing when the site goes down the passed week.

is a simple hack due that only changes the palette for bk3 cpu controled bosses shiva (city hall) roo, and ash to their original palettes, but anyway is interesting. it was maked using the palettes of rage tool.

i have that ips patch, give me some time and i will make a mirror here for all the next time i come.

apart, other interesting thing i miss in sor-online are the sor1 clone chars patch.
where is? well that patch are in the same website of the gaxe3 eagle hack, etc. here:

it allows you to select the same char both players (not only blaze, else char) in the characters selection screen. notice that is a total different hack from that clone blaze edition sor1 hack.

indeed, that has this fault, in stage 3, you just have to be a little more distant from the barrels (but except the first, the rest you can skip the running)
, As with the bulldozer, jump before approaching and end use special defense. and except this, I could complete the game without problems.

I think the failure is due to have increased attack range weapons like the knife or the pipe (for when you use the pistol or shotgun)

the character issue, well, it is true that other most famous characters, such as cloud or squall, the final fantasy, but I wanted to design a girl, and when I played the game I really liked its design.

here are for you all the bk3 boss patch for cpu bosses ash, shiva (city hall) and victy uses their original palettes. this was maked with palettes of rage.

the rar file also comes along with the sor1 clone patch that allow you to select in sor1 else char both players + the Classic Cheat Code Game Patcher (CCCGP) for elseone that are interested.

this cccgp is one program that makes a patch with Game Genie (GG) or Pro Action Replay (PAR) codes that you have copied for apply one cheat to a game permanently.

i want to try this today for see if is possible make that the "can always continue as ash" par code works always as one patch, and then apply that patch to one sor3 rom for use with else hack of sor3 maked, due that like you know ash are censored in sor3, and i really likes can select it with the rest of the chars without need always to use the par code...

shit, i cant make a patch with that program. the can continue as ash always code works perfectly in my kegafusion. but when i want to add it to a ips patch o patch it directly into one rom, it simply dont works... perhaps is something very rare about the way you write the code, but i test several ways and nothing of nothing.
