The player shiva (Both SoR2 and SoR3 versions) is purposefully weaker than the boss version.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the damage values for the moves of SoR2 and SoR3 Shiva when he's a boss match the character versions of Shiva you can unlock. It's just that as a boss Shiva isn't restricted by a special gauge so he's free to spam Final Crash and his defensive special all he wants, as well as having crazy fast movement speed (which most enemies have on higher difficulties anyways). Plus, you get 1-3 star specials whereas the bosses do not use those, so really, the only thing Shiva as a playable character doesn't have compared to when he's a boss is crazy movement speed.

Last i checked my Final Crash didn't take away half a lifebar

Friendly speaking, all these characters have their individual style, I really like their moves individually. When I was young during my school days, whenever I play SOR2 I like to use blaze, until the SOR3 someday, I finally realize Shiva maybe my favourite character.

When the first time I saw Shiva in SOR3 I was like wow, such a cool move, final crash!! Later I decided to take note of this character and begin searching for him.

You should try either SOR2 or SOR3 shiva it's fantastic.

I completely forgot that SoR3 Shiva's offensive special was the final crash. That makes much more sense over the confusion. Remake had the final crash switched to Shiva's 0-1 blitz, and swapped his offensive special to the custom flaming palm sprite which, to be fair, still comes out lightning fast and packs a wallop.

Something tells me if they kept the boss damage on player Shiva's final crash blitz, there would be a teensy bit of backlash over how OP he would be. :p

Well, if I remember correctly (long time I don't play Shiva on SoR3) everything on Final Crash was better there.
I even had problems conecting it on Remake, cause maybe the speed or range has been nerfed, maybe both (not sure). In truth, I wanted to see it as his ofensive special, with a crazy flash effect, more like a boss finishing move than a spam.

Sometimes I have problem challenging Shiva, as usually the stage 7 city hall Shiva, his extremely tricky and fast, base on the way he walk is already fast enough to confuse me, so sometime I have to be very careful while challenging him. Even the player Shiva does not reacts super fast as the boss version.

But I still like to use him even as a player version.

Shiva's a bitch if you know how to approach him from up or down and make him whiff his jumps, or put distance and get his sorry ass when he tries to dash on you to do his Final Crash or his somersault palm attack.

He ain't that tough... in none of his versions.

Is there a way to manually save you data. I think it did it automatically at one point, because I have Shiva still unlocked, but now it doesn't.

That's weird. Did you push alt+f4 or close the game window manually? Always esc through main menu and hit esc. There is "savegame" folder in the game directory with savegame.sor file inside. If you have unlocked Shiva there shouldn't be any way to lose him, unless you have messed with the savegame.sor file?

I just realized that there was a savegame file outside of the folder. Not sure how that got their since I haven't tampered with anything.

EDIT: I fixed it by moving the savegame file into the savegame folder. Really simple solution.
