Hey, all. Local Government Elections are on in my neck of the woods. Oh, joy.

Anyway, I don't know if this has been addressed already, on this thread or elsewhere on the forum, but here goes: I downloaded my own mod's zip-file which I'd previously uploaded (had to do so after I lost my stuff due to a hard drive format), but what I'm noticing is that I can't select the mod for modification in SORMaker (though I can still play the mod itself). Also, I can't modify any aspect of the mod's level scenes with FPG Edit. I don't know if it's because there's a different file format or what (haven't gone too in-depth to investigate yet), but what I plan to do is download other mods and see if I get the same issue. As for what to do if it turns out that I don't get the same problem with other mods (incidentally, I CAN access the Prototype mod for modifying in SORMaker), I have no idea...

Yeah this is a bug that happens sometimes. If you rename your mod to ensure it appears first on the list alphabetically it works. For example, when I could not view my mod with Sormaker, I renamed it "aV4 Remake." You can rename it back later.

Make sure to clear that folder with nothing but the game mods. Nothing. else. No zips, no images, no other files. Nothing but the mod folders.

This.
I didn't know other people had so many issues with the mod selector, but yeah... you have to put all non-folders in to their own folder.

Like make a folder called 'Zips' (conveniently it'll be put out of the way at the bottom in your mod list), and put all your zips and junk in there.
If you have any file... ANYTHING that isn't a folder, you'll get the selector glitch.

A very simple fix. But apparently not known by people.

Well, it's known by one now, CajNatalie. Thanks, guys.

EDIT: Removed the zip-files, and now the mod is accessible in SORMaker. However, it still can't be edited with FPG Edit...though that'll be a moot point for me since I'm starting it over from scratch, and the really essential stuff (like music and dialogue) can be copied and pasted in the second version anyway.

EDIT April 9, 2012: Well, my mod's completed now. I just want to say, thank you to all those of you here on the forum who gave me tips and assistance with building the mod (though it was quite arduous at times, I dare say)...but thanks to your pushing and advice, my mod's finished and I feel confident enough to build another one when I'm ready to do so. Once again, thanks! :D

Hi everyone, I haven't been on the forums much, but I've wanted to ask if the enemy palettes can successfully be edited in ImageReady. What other programs do you use? Or do you just use the built-in editor?

Hey again, all. Been a while since I posted on here due to work and other real-world matters taking up my time, but oh, well, priorities.

Anyway, I have a question regarding map collision: during my last revamp of my mod, I tried to do a map collision for one of my stages, coloring and designing it appropriately; but when I tested the stage, Axel wouldn't move. AT ALL. Has anyone else ever experienced this, and how can it be rectified? Thanks.

I'm assuming he's located in a green area of your collision map.

No, it's the blue section of the collision map (the part where Axel's expected to walk).

Completely new to SORmaker

Postby Krizalid » Wed Apr 25, 2012 1:06 am

I am completely new to SoRMaker so please don't flame me for asking anything that might be foolish.

I play SORR a lot but never once tried SOrmaker. Since I have absolutely no idea what I was doing, I looked here and found samples of created games (I think they were). I downloaded a few (One being a music video! ).

Anyway, I downloaded this SOR3 V5 from this website but I have NO idea what to do with it to make it work. I looked in the tutorials but quite frankly, I feel like I'm looking into the human brain when it comes to computer talk. Can anybody maybe give me a step by step process of how to get one of the downloaded Remakes to work? Thanks for everything in advance.

Your colors might be wrong. If you think they're correct, upload it and we'll check it out.
The box said "Requires Windows 95 or better." I can't understand why it won't work on my Linux computer.

You put the SOR3 mod folder in the -- SORRv5 > mod > games -- directory, then it shows up in the SoRMaker menu in SoRR V5.

You could have just used the questions topic to ask that.
