It's one of the finest games ever made for 16 bit, no doubt.

he popped in the chat once or twice, hung around for a bit and disappeared. I'm sure he occasionally checks up on the place but I doubt if he'll post here again.

That's sad :( I miss seeing his presence around here.

Made an account for thanking the people who made this game.
So far it's the best game for me and made me relive so much nostalgia.

I play the streets of rage 2 path everyday before doing anything else and I believe I'll play this game to the grave.

There is exactly one year this legendary masterpiece was launched, i remember playing SOR 2 in the morning when i had been surprised with the news that the game was finally released after 08 long years of waiting, i downloaded the game at the exact moment I saw the download link, i played this game in the morning and evening, that day, 04/04/2011 was once legendary for my life, i still play this game when I have time and inclination for it, this game will last for a long time, thank you very much Bombergames and thank you BoMbErLiNk!

Just Another "Thank You" Thread :)

Hi all,

I've been lurking on these forums for a few months but never got around to making a full account. However, I've been enjoying this game so much that I have to log in to give my thanks.

I first caught wind of the project back in its v4 era. After I had played some of the classic SoR games on a Sega emulator, I found a related link for SoRR v4, and tried it out. I liked it, but was later absolutely blown away by v5. It gives me fond childhood nostalgia, and has got to be the most faithful remake to my favorite beat em up series as a child. Hell, I even loved the remastered version of the soundtrack so much that I keep it on my iPod :D

I own an Xbox, but find that I play this game just as much if not more. My younger brother doesn't get it, but maybe it's a generational gap thing...you had to grow up with it to fully understand.

Thank you Bombergames for letting me keep reliving my childhood. I know you've scrapped all future projects, but I'm glad you managed to go out with one hell of a bang. Here's some thanks from a VERY grateful fan.

I just wanted to let the Bombergames team know that I'm still playing this game and it's freakin' awesome! :P I was a huge Sega fan back in the days of the Mega Drive era and Streets of Rage 1-3 hade an enormous impact on me growing up. Streets of Rage Remake v5 is everything that I could I ever want from a remake of the Streets of Rage games. The soundtrack is outstanding, the game has enormous replay value and everything that was good about the old games has been improved a ten-fold. I am sooo happy that I got to live to see the day of the release of this game!

I would go so far as to say that Streets of Rage Remake v5 is quite possibly one of my top-five favourite games of all time.

Many many thanks to the Bombergames team for making this outstanding game! I could not think of a better way of showing the creators of the original sor games how much we appreciate their work, still to this day.

Cheers guys and let's show our love for Streets of Rage and sorr by keeping this community going!

Another newcomer to the forum, although I've been lurking for a bit. Used to play the original Megadrive games a lot back in the 90's (mainly SoR2/3, did Max/Skate Mania runs regularly) and discovered this through another gaming forum last year, but didn't start playing it until a few weeks ago after I played the originals on an emulator. Been playing for a few weeks now, currently training all characters on Very Hard in preparation for Mania runs...and here's my review of this excellent remake:

Levels: Loving the graphics upgrades to the existing stages, and adding enemies from outside their respective games is a nice touch too, keeps things more interesting. The new stages are awesome though (moving train FTW), and mixing them up with the SoR3 stages works nicely too along with all the route forks (would've been boring if it'd have been just the original 3 routes with a 4th one thrown in).
Characters: Nice to see upgrades to Zan and fully-fledged versions of Adam/Roo/Shiva/Ash. The new characters are great as well, and although the earlier versions of Axel/Blaze/Skate do way more damage than their modern versions, I never agreed with the changes to Skate from SoR2 to SoR3 so it's good to have him back :P
Gameplay: Pretty authentic, and brutal to boot...much tougher than the original games. The new enemies add to it well, and it's good to see options for emulating all of the original games in some features (I personally use SoR3 settings as it's the most recent game and I like the feel of it better than 1/2)
Sound: Sounds are great and the music is awesome, especially the new tracks. Loving the oldschool samples there too ;)

There are a few bad points, but not many. I've posted my thoughts on the route map in another thread. There are a few discrepancies between enemy behaviour, although some are good as well as bad. Ninja's are by far the worst, they have way too many immune frames (that they didn't have originally) and IMO the SoR1 Galsia's shouldn't have an unbreakable combo given that they're the most basic enemy (SoR2 bikers are less common)...but on the other hand the SoR2 robots are much easier to grab (makes the SoR2 boss fight easier but not too much so) and the Blaze twins are thankfully a lot easier overall (they were almost unhittable originally). The bad endings are much harder to get than the good endings too (with the SoRR route being the hardest to begin with, and ending 5 being harder to get than ending 6). And worst of all ofc, Sega's pointless and ineffective decision to ban it, preventing anything from being fixed/improved.

Overall though it's a masterpiece, big thanks to everyone who worked on it!
