My first mod - Streets of Rage Gaiden (6% complete)

Alright, an idea I whipped up is a one-on-one fighting mod. You'd face punks and bosses all 1-on-1, but they'd have longer lifebars and many of these punks would have weapons. In arena mode, the stages often have weapons and/or hazards. Also, in the arena mode I walled the collision maps so the mooks can't go off-screen like they like to do.

This is my first mod to familiarize myself with SORMaker. So if this thing ends up being shite, then at least I'll learn from it.

There are two modes. One is Dynamic Fighting, which has you facing opponents in gauntlet fashion. You'd face goons in a long arena, then go in a room to face a boss, with each stage having dialogue cutscenes.

The other is Arena Death Match, and it's just as World Heroes as it sounds. Weapons. Hazards. Each character having a different stage. This is the "arcade mode", each stage has a hallway containing four rooms, each with a different opponent. Simply select which opponent you want to face.

The only problem is this: SORMaker can't jump to a specific scene on another level, so I can't jump from, say, Stage 1 Scene 7 to Stage 2 Scene 3. So, on Stage 2, it'll have to go to another select screen like the beginning of Stage 1, asking if you want to do A.D.M. or Stage 2 of the Dynamic Fighting storyline.

The idea sounds interesting, unfortunately, if you'll put low level mooks in the deathmatch arena in 1-on-1 will be a breeze.

What I could recommend, though, is to use the elements of the dynamic fight combined with the death match and re-group six to eight mooks with different styles in teams, for example:
Scene 1-1: Derpland boys - (all unarmed, only a single bar full) SOR2 Galsia, SOR2 Donnie, SOR3 Galsia, SOR1 Galsia, SOR3 Donnie, Galvice and Cody (this one with more health).
Scene 1-2: Punx not dead - SOR2 Signal, SOR3 Signal, SOR1 Signal, BKIII Garnet, SOR3 Soozie, Jack.
Scene 1-3: Armed and dangerous 1 - SOR2 Galsia (knife), SOR2 Donnie (pipe), SOR3 Galsia (knife), SOR Galsia (knife), SOR1 Galsia (metal bat), SOR3 Donnie (pipe, *gosh, these fuckers are PAIN with it), Jack.

just some team examples.

They can fight in standard arenas or in death match arenas, obviously, the deathmatch arenas will brings of tons of challenges.
etc. etc.

The idea is to make combination of one on one enemies but putting them together in groups to add more challenge. Even some special pairings if you must, for example, one SOR3 Galsia paired up with a SOR Bongo so they do their famous grab and throw team technique. Besides, some pairs are kind of essential: Yasha & Onihime, Mona & Lisa, Jack & Slash, Galsia & Donovan, Barbon & Electra, etc.

I dunno, these are just ideas out there, take whatever you consider it might work. :)

Oh, you might also like to consider to tone down the swearing in the dialogues, just saying.

I like your ideas, I could probably put all the Signals together, and all the Galsias together...

Or I could just put hazards like the passing biker thugs and falling barrels in the first stage to make it harder while keeping the one-on-one motif. That would make it harder while staying true to the heart of the project.

I like the idea, i did something similar in the wave war mod (although that was crazy)
maybe a more balanced and intresting one would work really well.

it will be hard to do this... because one enermy is too easy... yet too many is just nuts..
i dont know how you would create this. i cant really give you any ideas, but i wish you luck
