One thing that should work if it's a problem with Streets of Rage Remake having issues with PS3 controllers is a free program called JoyToKey. What it does is it emulates your joystick as a keyboard. You set it up so that when you press the Square button it's as though you're pressing the A key (or whatever key you want) on your keyboard, set the D-pad to read as the arrow keys, etc. Then it's just a matter of setting the config in SoRR to keyboard and make the inputs match what you have emulated on your gamepad. I have friends who set it up with their custom arcade cabinet, so it'd probably work with SoRR.
