Why is there only one thread to ask questions.

Postby dproeder » Mon Jul 25, 2011 11:04 pm

So I'm in the process of making my mod, and I've been using the forum's for tips, but I have a question.

Why in the world is there only one thread for asking questions? Thats counter productive to the whole point of a help forum. Instead of making just one thread, make a index devoted to only questions and an index for tips. Its way too hard to browse around the forums right now because of that. I don't want to click through 25 pages of one thread to see a million different questions I can learn from. Just a suggestion. Right now im having a map collision problem, and the only way I can search for related posts is by searching "map collision" Id rather be able to search threads about map collision rather than a million posts about it in one thread.

And when you do find a question someone has asked that you have as well, you have to dig through the thread to find a response or solution (if one even exists).

And why don't you just post your question in the topic you're mentionning so you can actually be helped?

The search function is fine. But when you find a result, its usually in the question thread. And usually the answer for what you are searching for is buried in the thread. I was just stating that it would be easier for everyone if specific questions and the answers were just contained to one thread. I've just never seen a forum where the questions and answers section was contained to a big long thread. There is always a separate forum index for just questions.

well you could really post more than half of the current threads in the "questions/tips" thread couldn't you?

How about also using the "edit" button to avoid double posting in a row?

Man, i don't wanna sound like an ass but would be fine if you just follow forum rules.

Though I must admit that yeah, we could at least index some of the common problems to make it easier to navigate in the thread. Now, if you are complaining about it and feel like doing something , you can help us out to sort the info and paste them together in an index, sounds good enough? I can help as well.
