Construction Site:

1) Enemies (and probably player too) can walk over holes.
2) Game got stuck towards the end of the construction site just after the last barrels fall down the iron trappings and the scene kind of opens up into something like a plain dirt ground. Like before in the snow level: No more enemies, but screen didn't scroll. This didn't happen the first time I played the mod, though.

Actually, I had the download with that name. However I integrated it in the old folder, maybe something went wrong with that. I'll try again and report back about the results.

Actualy, I also tried this third patch: Construction site still has walkable pit and after the second row of dropping barrels game stops for good... just like if it was the snow stage in the first evrsion.

Gosh, you gotta hate us, buddy. :P

I dont know what to say, my version doesnt have this issue at all.. im thinking maybe i uploaded version 2 again... please can you look in you're game file and tell me does it have a stage2b_map.fpg

people who have not played this game will read this thread and think its too buggy to bother with..
*sigh*

EDIT: ive uploaded my version which i have tested and works, I didnt find any of the errors you are talking about so i must have uplodaed version 2 twice or you didnt delete the old version... who knows

when you download it please delete sor lost levels 1st THEN put this into you're mod file do not say replace as it will keep some files in there which are not wanted.

Im not sure what happend but either way my file that works has been re-uplodaed so i hope if you download this one everything will be fine.

Got past the snowlevel now. :) I had to quit the game after stage 3 though (because real life intervened).

Yeah, it's okay now.

Well, I finished it,I guess due of the huge amount of lives that I've got in the first levels. The last 3 levels became really hard (non stop waves of around 40 enemies and with no chicken or even an apple after the wave) and some were dragging too long, I felt the positioning of enemies in the first levels was a bit more appropriate, in the last levels was more random monsters than anything else.

Okay, one thing itched me: Last boss... Souther!? O_O

Overall, was enjoyable, playable and with some really beautiful stages (Geese Tower office and the first stage my favorites so far). 3.5/10.

I played the mod. The first few stages are very good, the placement of the enemies is balanced, backgrounds look generally nice.

Once you get to stage 5, however, difficulty gets cranked up too high. The amount of enemies that gets thrown at you is absolutely ungodly. More enemies doesn't mean more fun, after a while it just becomes frustrating and boring. Also, some stages are way too long, they seem to never end.

The mod shows potential, as esemplified by the first three or four stages, but after that it's got some huge difficulty issues.

As for bugs, I noticed two:

1) At the construction site with the breakable walls, enemies can walk on the walls.

2) Most scenes of the forest stage have no music.

Also, music in stage 4 (the one with Rudra as boss) has very low volume.

i agree that stage 8b has too many badguys but not the others..

anyway i dont know what to do about BUG 1 i did see that one but there doesnt seem to be a way of fixing that i dont think thats a bug with my mod but with sorrmaker

Bug 2.. i forgot the music for that please get it from SORRv5\mod\music track 10.ogg

bug 3 isnt a bug i wanted some carm music for that level in the same kind of style as sor2 level 8a

No need to apologise. This is a great way to provide feedback and improve mods. The quality of mods will improve as we learn from each other. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, likewise. I have a lot of issues in my mod. None of them are huge but I think I accidentally placed a few empty canisters in some of the stages by accident when I meant to put something in them. Or, even more annoying, I forget to add the 2p only thing for one of the canisters and people get two chickens. XD

But yeah dude, don't be too hard on yourself. That's what feedback is for, improving your mod. ;)

Anyway, I'll download this badboy later and check it out. Right now though I've got other things to do.

I hope the game have had better balance in the enemy waves and don't make a scene drag too long.

Looking forward the (hopefully) last patch. Or else you'll hate me for all my feedback.

Re: sor The lost levels- 5th Updat - May 21st - final Versio

Postby Elmo » Sun May 22, 2011 11:07 pm

Ok, so here's what I have to say:

Pros:

- Interesting levels, some nice and fresh ideas too.
- Good balance in the first levels.

Cons:

- Too difficult. This is because there are:
- Too many enemies overall, especially in later stages.
- Like in most mods (not just in sormaker thus far, but e.g. BOR mods too), enemy placement lacks proper "build up" to keep things fresh and interesting. Every enemy type should be introduced properly and there should be new enemy types appearing at least up until stage 7.
- No dialogue, no cutscenes.

All in all, I liked playing this mod, though. I'd give it a 5 out of 10. (Maybe this doesn't sound fair, but I'd judge it against SORR V5 which would get a 10).
