Groovemaster303 isn't called the Groove Master for nothing... love the improv and so many tracks.
And let's not forget the awesomeness Gecko adds.

Mixing and matching my favorites is so damn tough. Everything from you three is amazing... had to spend over an hour working out my choices.
o.o

Finally, at 3am, I've put together all my .ogg files.
Time to sleep, maybe? Lol.

QFT! :!:

BGM 1401 is the best SORR music composer imo, Groovemaster 303, Geckoyamori, Sanchizmo, B-A-C and Kaleth are awesomes musics composers too. :)

BGM 1401 should make songs for other games, such as Sonic 1 Megamix, Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike online edition because the new remixes sucks.

This generation need musicans like him hurry, most of this musics today have no soul! :x

If there were more musicians, like the SORR musicans composers this game generation [ and maybe the this musicans generation ] would become much better.

I would have loved if some of our talented artists put together that soundtrack, I'm sure they all could have done a much better job. I was so disappointed with what we were given, luckily the NG and 2I themes will be DLC.

Check out the Street Fighter thread in the Off-topic section, we generally have the latest news there.

On topic- has anybody made any properly looped OGG's with intros of any of the unused stuff from the Ultimate Soundtrack?

BGM1401 has this uncanny knack for creating pretty much perfect renditions of Sor3 tracks which is very very hard to do, not to mention he worked crazy fast. I have great respect for him.

Before BGM, we did have a couple of other people send in some music too. I remember some guy sending in some demos of the SOR main theme. sadly i don't have the songs and i forgot his name too. But the music was pretty decent, just not fitting for the game.

Added a page to MusicBrainz, with some tag correcting (like GeckoYamori -> Gecko Yamori, replaced underline with a space, etc...)
http://musicbrainz.org/release/0d2843d7 ... 147ba9f53b

Anyone can use it if you have MusicBrainz Picard installed (correcting all tags automatically by one click).

Well, well...Was on YT and caught up with a vid of the in-game NRA:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQKKfCCOb74

Saw the 'likes to dislikes' ratio... I don't believe it!

And this, for a Beta mix that I personally didn't like much in the end. I am genuinely stunned.

Funny how things turn out, eh? Cheers to anyone who voted, I guess!

Well, 102 (now 103) people can't be wrong.

Obviously they haven't heard the mixed you included in the pack, which ar,e in my opinion, a lot better (especially the extended ones).

You were kicking ass, bud! Good job.

Sometimes i'll get a lot of people liking a track I'm not too fond of, on the other hand I can have something I'm really proud of get very little attention.

I am not surprised that you got so many likes though. I think the OST was coming along very well with mine and Gecko's contributions but you made the soundtrack complete, transforming it from great to incredible.

This is Sweeeeeet! Thanks for the download, you guys just filled one of my old mp3 players!

And as for the 'who likes what' in music, that hasn't always been a thing. In the past, it was tough to get out there - generally you only could if what you made followed the basic rules of what people in general like, right? (think classical -> 1950's here).

With each new wave of media types we got more and more stuff we'd never gotten...and more and more music suited to only a few tastes. (80's, cassette tapes, rap and metal not suitable for the masses).

Now our formats are so powerful...the internet and the mp3 have allowed niche music to find it's group of followers from out of the masses.

And there arises this 'like this track, but not that one' that gm303 mentions. The diversity is beyond anything, and music styles become very specific art moments. That is, what people are making now is more legitimately music than the fluff of the past was. More legitimately art. Limitations stripped away one by one.

This SORR soundtrack would have KILLED in 1989. As someone who couldn't get enough techno back then, i can say - this would have blown us all away. Instead we had to settle for pet shop boys and kmfdm, cause that's what made it to our radio stations....

This is so good i'm listening to it while i watch MMA instead of listening to the fight itself!

in 1989 was mostly house, post-disco, breakbeats and early techno genres what inspired Yuzo to create the SOR soundtracks. in the 90's was a more contemporary house, mixed with early trance and other electronic variations.

Now all our DJ's and composers who made the SORR OST used more fusions of these genres and experimented with other sounds and styles so certainly they gave a lot of new flavors to old songs without taking away Yuzo's essence.

This soundtrack it's been on my mp3 player for a long while since it was out... and yes, been doing the Pepsi challenge to many people who don't believe in game music, show them these tracks, they get enthralled and they love it and when i told them it's game music they're like DAFUQ~!? I gotta luv their expressions! XD

When streets of rage (and 2 ) came out, i'm just a white guy living in the country. For all i knew, that's what all big cities were like, and that's what was popular. I didn't know any better.

And whether it was true or not, what's amazing is that SOR has made this popular. It was based off what existed then, but now there's a lot of guys out there like me....that came to know these genres initially through SOR2.

That is, SOR music is now a reference for "urban" and "sick". Which is exactly what the music itself is attempting to describe in the first place! It's a circle....

Nice. I should probably do the same.

I play at least one song per day from this soundtrack. I don't think I've ever stopped listening to it ever since the game was released. I made a playlist of the in-game soundtrack and all the unused ones recently (10 hours long too) and it helps out whenever I am doing school work. This is easily one of the best OSTs I have ever heard.

I need to compile a list of my favorite songs from the game. I remember BGM asking me to give my review of some of the songs a long time ago and I never have.

Didn't really want to start a new thread to ask this so thought I'd post here - was a SORR V5 official soundtrack CD cover art with track list ever created, similar to the one that someone made for v4? Even in this digital age, I would still like to have it on CD as it looks intriguing to others :-)
Check out my website http://www.***.uk for SOR info and downloads
