Share your palettes here

Postby Iceweb38 » Sat May 07, 2011 2:31 pm

I'm surprised this one hasn't been done yet so I'm opening it. Did you make a nice palette you'd like to share? Feel free to share here, preferably with a screen ;)
Here's the ones I realised so far:

The first one is I believe an improvement of the original blue palette made by Criss (correct me if I'm wrong Criss). I thought the skin looked weird so I changed it.
The second is originally a palette for Onihime/Yasha from SOR1 that was made by Criss and which I thought was excellent so I ported it to SOR1 Blaze.
The third is the only one I realised all by myself. Fans of Mighty Morphins Power Rangers will surely guess who I was trying to recreate with that palette :P

Enjoy!

My turn !

I was thinking Sor2 Shiva looks very Dragonball-esque. Then, well...

Something similar then happened to Mr. X.

You already know my almighty shiva. There's also a devil one.

Some may think that almighty shiva is a terrible palette, but there is a technical reason for me to use it.
My secret is revealed now: lighter palettes increases your concentration and focus on the game, you actually react faster.
My gameplay improved quite a lot when I started using this almighty character. Also I tried the devil palette and I were terrible playing with it. I have a friend who did almighty versions for other characters and confirmed that his gameplay improved as well.

I was sure of that ! First time I saw one of your SoRR5 videos, I immediately though : "very clever, he uses a simple, almost all-white palette, so the character is always visible and he can concentrate on his playing without being lost looking for the right sprite." Ugly but effective.
Your demonic Shiva looks awesome.

Here I edited Blaze's costume abit. I hated the yellow bits on her clothing so I replaced it with red!

Which folders "backup_chars" and "chars" can I share with my own palettes?

Excellent idea for a thread. Make sure to share guys, these are really cool.

Joy, you will find the palettes you want to share in the "chars" folder. Backup folders are a copy of the other ones, just if you want to reverse changes. This is why there is no need to edit the backup folder. Also, your custom palettes are saved in chars or enemies, not in backup.

Nice! =D

I'm having problems with the palette editor... i can't change the colors of a character.
What do i need to do? start the game again from scratch and buy things on the shop again?

thanks!

Well. I would like to modify the palettes of some bosses, mainly (of course) Mr. X and Shiva (I really want to fight this Joker X :D), but which palette is the right one for each of them ? I saw in the "enemies" folder that there are 8 files per enemy, but only 7 palettes can be modified from the editor. Any idea ? Thanks.

Bluuuuueeeee.

None for Skate because his blue palettes are already perfect.

I'd have to say my best are BKIII Axel and Zan, while my worst are all three Blazes. Her palettes are just too limited!

I only have two. Sorry they're so small.

Black and red is one of my favorite color combos, as can be seen with Roo. As for Elle, I kinda like to make white characters black and vice-versa.

Hey CrappyBlueLuigi, could you please upload your palettes somewhere? They're really good!
