I don't think there's anything wrong with speaking about scrapped things with a little disappointment. It doesn't belittle or take away the quality of a game. I was highly disappointed to not see online make it mainly because majority of the time I play 2p is online but that does NOT mean I like the game any less.
Lot's of games have scrapped things official or otherwise and people talk about it all the time.

Never the less, the game is fun PERIOD. Yes the game was free...well mainly because it was a remake of a halfway major company's series bt its still better then what SEGA originally put out and other things could've been added to top it off but its still cool. A lot of things about the the game was said and or misconstrued but in the end, all we can do about it is make one of our own or deal with it

Maybe that is a biased opinion as I've always thought of SoR2 to be the greatest (with final fight 3 right behind). Anywho, I can understand constructive criticism, but outright complaining about what is and isn't in the game seems like a moot point when you consider this is free. A lot of time went into it and yes it took years to complete, but did any of us ever have to pay one damn cent for it? no. I ain't saying you have to love every single aspect about the thing , but goodness, so you read the blog wrong or it was translated wrong. Does it really mess up anything about the game? I'm just glad the wait was worth it and not like some other game that took years to come out just to be mediocore at best (I'm looking at you duke nukem).

You, sir, got +1 on my cool list.

THIS! - Image
I got SO EXCITED when I saw this update on the blog...
SoR has classical villains, it would be beyond awesome to play such campaign exactly as this picture suggests.

Starting as Mr X without his gun in a breakout...

I got really sad for not having this campaign. This picture made me so excited...

The background story could provide a reason why Mr. X got his typewriter right from the start (it was smuggled in or something). Sormaker can't provide for those nice wardens, though.

Cody with a good blue police scheme might do.

The prison stage not making it in was one of the biggest disappointments for me for sure. I remember hearing about it in the chat (before it was decided that it would be apart of the scrapped Villains mode) and it sounded so awesome, but it never really took off.

Online mode is what I miss the most. Wasn't there supposed to be a 4-player mode too, or am I imagining things?

On a side note, I think the game isn't balanced enough between 1P and 2P games. 2P makes it too easy, it should add more enemies or something. I can beat the game in Mania 2P even when playing badly, but can't do the same in 1P. Just saying that in case 3P or 4P would make it even easier.

Totally disagree here. I beat mania once in 2P mode with Shiva (helped by Max), but now I usually play on "hard" - which is the most interesting "regular" setting because on easy/normal the AI seems to lack some features. But with a most regular char like SOR3 Blaze I can beat this setting (without cheats) only with help of a "compter friend" without losing a continue. And by extrapolation, using SOR3 Blaze, I only conquer "normal" (without cheats) in SP mode without losing a continue. Now, well, I'm 46 and my reflexes aren't what they used to be in the 80ies, but still: I have no trouble beating mania in SP mode playing the original SOR2 game, so that's why I don't think the game is too easy in 2P, but rather that it's too hard in 1P mode.

Reminds me of another complaint I have regarding difficulty and balance: stage difficulty and length varies a lot depending on the route taken.

Is something wrong? I think SorR v5 is far easier than SoR2.

There was some idea, but 4P in SoR screen is a mess. It could only be possible if the battle area of the screen could get enlarged.

It depend on the difficulty setting, but you may tell the truth about 1player mode.

SoR2 mania mode is a lot harder than SoR V5. I never completed SoR2 in mania mode but I did in v5.
The thing is opponents speed in V5 is a lot faster than it was in SoR2 whatever the difficulty you choose.
That make the normal mode even harder than the hard mode of SoR2, especially for people who are not side scrolling beat them all "addict".

The only thing that grow with difficulty in v5 is the way they use their attack and their life bars as far as I noticed.
Max pause delay SoR3: a.k.a"The Trash Compactor" => Mania killer mode.
Here is a great sprite ressource for fighting games

4p mode was never considered by Bomberlink. There was a mock up screen someone made, but that was it.
