How do you do the infinite combos with Shiva such as the ones seen here?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jQcrPw4 ... ure=relmfu

I've tried to do them but any big baddie that I do it on usually will counter/block/move and screw up the combo big time (For example, Barbon/Barbon clones block it and will do their roundhouse right after).

What I've been doing is:
Normal standing combo (BBB) without the last knock down move
Dash in for a grab
Grab combo without the last knock down move
Vault over, then vault back
Start the normal combo again

There's also the other one that I see people do without the vault which involves letting go of the grab by walking away from them and then starting the BBB combo again.

Could anyone help me with that? Also, I believe that it might only work with a certain type of pause delay coupled with a certain kind of Shiva.

The "turn away for a split second then re-grab the enemy" has nothing to do with pause delay, it was possible to do it in SoR1 and pretty sure in SoR2 as well if you have good timing (maybe even SoR3, haven't seen videos of it done there). You have to press away from the enemy when you're grabbing just long enough (in SoR1 I think you press away during your second grab hit) to let go and move back towards the enemy the moment the game 'registers' you've let go.

If you're having trouble with it just stick with double vaults (grab, hit, hit, double vault, repeat). Streets of Rage Remake has an odd bug/enemy behaviour where the grabbed enemy will stand still for a second after a double vault (instead of immediately punching you like several do in the original games) so double vaults are basically always safe to use to re-grab the enemy, unless other enemies around you get in the way. For enemies that block, don't punch them in between grabs, they'll often block halfway through your basic punch combo (notice in the video you posted Shiva only punches once in between each grab, guess Barbon blocks the second hit). Only damage them with the Forward + Attack grab moves. Slow (unless you're playing Shiva who can add a third hit without knocking down) but works against even stuff like Mr. X.

Thanks for explaining the thing about the pause delay as well as the . It's one option I still haven't gotten used to tweaking. I'll just have to go into boss rush mode and practice the hell out of that combo.

grab, hit hit hit, double vault, repeat seems like it will help a lot :). I've been sorta doing the same thing but I guess I'm just a noob at this stuff.

Thanks again.

It's too much of an Exploit for me is this. I stopped using it after a few games since it just feels as though I'm cheating the game rather than showing my skills for the difficulty.
The box said "Requires Windows 95 or better." I can't understand why it won't work on my Linux computer.

It's certainly cheesy on lower difficulties, but if you're playing on Mania some of the enemies become ridiculously aggressive to the point where I'd say anything that works is fair game (Barbon punishes jump attacks or blitzes, Abadede's dash attack has near instant execution speed, etc).

It's also not something you can effectively do in groups as enemies like whip ladies or knife throwers can hit you in between grabs, so it's really limited to one-on-one fights.

*thumbs up*
I don't wanna sound arrogant, but difficulties are available for those who can't beat the game.
I don't really know how much you can exploit this on Remake, but since my first Mega Drive I want those to be fixed.

It isn't really exploitable in the original games as most enemies are scripted to punish you with a quick hit if you double vault. You need to rely on the more difficult "move away to let go" method.

Is there a way to Green Shiva on SORRv5

Postby E.Shiva » Tue Apr 24, 2012 3:05 am

Dear Sor fans:

I'm new to the forum here and I have been playing SORRv5 for quit some times, the Shiva which i buy was not as fast as the Boss version, is there a way to use the Boss version Shiva which is Fast and Powerful one?

I'm sharing a concept here, this is what i'm looking for: And also i discover one guy Chanawa has made one of the possibilities which is Boss Shiva sound Patch.

The player shiva (Both SoR2 and SoR3 versions) is purposefully weaker than the boss version. As far as I can tell you can't make Shiva any more OP by getting his boss version.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the damage values for the moves of SoR2 and SoR3 Shiva when he's a boss match the character versions of Shiva you can unlock. It's just that as a boss Shiva isn't restricted by a special gauge so he's free to spam Final Crash and his defensive special all he wants, as well as having crazy fast movement speed (which most enemies have on higher difficulties anyways). Plus, you get 1-3 star specials whereas the bosses do not use those, so really, the only thing Shiva as a playable character doesn't have compared to when he's a boss is crazy movement speed.

I think Shiva as a character (especially Shiva-3) it's already too S-tier. He's fast, 3-hit grab rush, extremely fast rush combo (which hits a lot more than the 3-hit of the CPU version), high reach, tiger fucking palms, etc. Sometimes we think the CPU version of certain characters are better but in reality the player versions are more complete.
