Tips & Tricks

Postby Sonic » Mon Apr 04, 2011 7:29 pm

Is the game too hard?
just some random tips and tricks.
Play Easy mode, read the game manual if you are new to the game.
Have a CPU friend/real friend to help you out.
Once completed, use the money to buy you some weapon/star cheats
to help.
Once you played a few times, the difficulty you once think its impossible will work out.
Use the free special from the OK bar more often.
Set Sor3 exceptions so you could move up and down while running.

Here's a few tips for the bike and jetski levels, because I'm sure a lot of you guys would be bleeding out lives on them.

Contrary to what you may think your B button back attack is actually fairly useless on these levels because most enemies have more effective attacks when you are in front of them. Instead, you should try and go at as many enemies from behind as you can! On the bike stages using your C button wheelie attack works well but you can't do that on the jetski levels. Fortunately, you can spam A button while rapidly changing direction on bike levels and jetski levels to continuously plough into enemies from behind. moving around ensures that you won't be sitting next to them for long enough for the enemies that can do back attacks to use them on you. Spamming A also serves you well when you need to dodge obstacles. The only enemies that you should be careful of being behind are those tricksie storms that throw molotovs.

So in summary on the bike and jetski levels play like ash and always go from behind!
Hope this helps!

If you go with the option of a CPU partner, I would advise you to use Axel and set it to "balanced". He essentially did most of the work while I played with Zan. I was more of a cautions player and use his reach and his running or "f, f + special" attack, it launches a ball of energy that travels beyond the screen. It also causes a small explosion that WILL hurt you or the other player, even with no player damager on.

I don't know if this would be the proper place to post it, but I can list the endings that I've gotten, and the paths required to get them. I've gotten Endings 3, 4, 5, and 6, but I have no idea how to get 1, 2, 7, or 8.

Like I said, I don't know if this would be the best place to list it, but if you guys like, I can list how I got each ending, and how to get the others, if someone else discovers how.

Dude, that would probably work better in a spoiler thread!

A question thread has been created.
I will ask you guys to use spoiler tags if needed, especially for a question like Marsdriver posted. Thanks ;)

Um...try buying the useful cheats at first such as the 3 star always option and the special move meter always full. This will help make harder difficulties easier, and nabbing you more points per playthrough. So save the fun stuff for later, oh and buy a character, they're stronger than the default 6 (sometimes like Ash and Shiva)
This will make the harder runs easier and well...nabbing you more points. Well this isn't really a tip it's just something that's helping me nab points

Teh Edit: So you get points deducted for cheats...oops

Edit: Ok don't want to save up for the expensive stuff (such as Rudra?)
Go to the store when blaze is sleeping (around early morning, 4 am, 5 am, etc.) Find an Item you want, and then steal it. You'll be locked out until you beat the game again and all points earned in that playtrough will go to Blaze, but you will have the item. So that's a tip for those that cost 90,000 and Up...but don't do it for the cheaper stuff

Defeat all 22 of
Spoiler: show
the Robo X's in the Mysterious Lab
and you'll get a 1-up.

This is INSANELY hard to do, and completely not worth it, but just so no one is tearing their hair out wondering what happens when you get all of them.

We all noticed that some of the enemies are much faster now as they used to be. You CAN tone that down at least a bit though: by choosing 50 FPS.

Here are the other ones (just like in the originals):

In SOR2 Stage 3-3 at the bottom center of the screen when you are facing Vehelits, there is another hidden 1-up.

In SOR3 Stage 1-3 there is a hidden 1-up to the bottom as soon as you start the stage.
What if the world had no Streets of Rage?

Naturally this game is harder b/c I remember reading somewhere that AI was tweaked. My first playthrough as Max on Normal I got my a** handed to me, but after turning off 'Sor3 exceptions;' which allowed me to run diagonally and in circles, I beat the game on Normal with about as much difficulty as the official Sor games (on normal, ). The major differences I've experianced with this improved AI is that they're a bit quicker, sometimes approach you in different patterns, and some enemies even have new attacks.

To be honest, the new AI is refreshing in this game.

Never Mind it didn't occur to me that she might want all the points you owe her :P
