Yeah you can pretty much do what you are thinking man  ,You can add new moves, new sprites from any SOR game and even edit the hitbox physics for characters,But I am not sure about creating new slots for Characters,However Red Crimson did this for his SOR2 hack,he made new Slots for playable Bosses,I hope Gsaurus knows much better about this and I cant wait to see the same thing happen with SOR3.

Or is it like a skin editor, i.e. take what moves and animation slots that are already in the game and tweak them to create a new looking move (like people used to do with fpg edit on sor remake v4)

It would be great if we could add new moves and button commands, Ive always wanted to make someone like blaze clones from sor1 as a playable character, and make them true to the originals, i.e. have a new button command added so that they can backflip evade and high summersault, which playable blaze couldnt actually do.

none the less this is great news for the SOR community. I can see some crazy mods being made available soon :D

I do wish you can put Maz on Axel's place. :P

Thanks man :) . Having trouble working out how to add new moves though. Im able to use the animation slots given then replace them with new sprites and hit physics. But what I really want to do is add more frames to the animations. i.e. blaze has 6 frames for her walk animation, but I want to change it to 8. maybe this is something that may get added to the pancake editor later.

It would be cool if pancake and crimson worked together to make a complete simple editor so that you can completely change characters and add new ones.

Yes. Exported axel spritesheet, used an external graphics editor to edit it and imported the result back.

This isn't currently possible, but I have plans to support it sometime later.

I have been working on pancakes with Red Crimson since the beginning, the editor was his idea  .

Eeeyup, you're gonna need GIMP or Photoshop.
Or Paint Shop Pro should also work.

Anything that can do layers and transparency, and you're good to go.

Round 4 is harder than Round 1 for Blaze, and I did it, too!!!

Nice one, I look 4ward to it.
Im also wondering if there is a program like this created so that you can swap and change the sound effects easily without trying to find it within the Roms Code. Im creating a Female character using axel and finding it annoying hearing "Arrggggg!!" when jump kicking and throwing.

RC has kept me updated a bit and of course I saw the postings on brawlers. Idk if he's passed it on, but I wanted to congratulate you guys on taking the SoR modding scene to new heights. Honestly you've paved the way for everyone who wants to do an SoR mod. A huge thanks to you and RC both for all the work you've put in here.

Is the generate from spritesheet tool actually usefull. Or is it best to just stick to replacing spritesheets as a skin.

Never mind. Ive just realised the difference lol

Man I tried this tool,It is really impressive,Credit to gsaurus,I tried Mapping Shiva's Sprites to Axel and Results are really impressive, what more needed in this tool is to create extra slots for playable characters so that you will not have to swap the four hero characters,I just hope its not impossible.I'm looking forward to see some hacks by the Community Members, guys make sure you try this tool,You will just have to mess around and you will understand almost everything.

Looking forward to the possiblities this tool creates. We should make a serprate form for the rom hacks the come out of this like we did with SORmaker. Bomberlink vowed never to release the source code and I doubt he's even coming close to thinking twice. This on the other hand could be just what we need to make just about whatever SOR2 fangame we want. Let's just hope that Sega doesn't fuck this oppertunity we have up.

That shouldn't be an issue anymore, but bear in mind that some animations are shared. E.g. combo end and hold B attack, pipe and sword, etc, they are the same animation. When you modify the first on the list, the other will be modified too (it's the same one), but not the opposite, that's the "bug". If you edit animations from top to bottom there shouldn't be any problem.
