Gsaurus Posted a SOR2 Hacking Tool on *** called SOR2 Pancake.This fantastic ROM hacking utility is effectively a SOR2 character editor. Adding your own custom characters into SOR2 is now a piece of (pan)cake! The possibilities for new ROM hacks are unlimited! (Requires Java).

You can finally make Enemy Characters Playable as well,Change Properties of Attacks and even Hitboxes.Someone needs to make cool hacks with this tool like playable Barbon,Abadede,Bear,Shiva,Mr.X with their Original Movesets,yes it is possible and I can see Possibilities



Features:
- Edit the timing of animations, collision boxes and weapon hand points of all characters
- Edit graphics of uncompressed character sprites (main characters and some enemies and bosses)
- Generate custom art graphics for uncompressed characters, by importing your own images
- Export complete spritesheets of any character
- Import spritesheets to replace or generate art for any uncompressed character
- Edit name, portrait and walking speed of the main characters

Godsaurus4 released a stable version of Pancake 3,a tool that lets you edit Bare Knuckle 3 and Streets of Rage 3 characters.



Features:
- Support bk3 and sor3 roms
- Modify the body collision boxes
- Edit attack boxes, damage, K.O. flag and direction.

UPDATE V1.1 with some bugfixes:
- Bug when opening a rom while having other oppened

- Some flipped frames was not working correctly (eg. Robot Axel ready to run; roo vault). They are not showing flipped on pk though, but that's not really a problem.

Yes,now its Our Chance to rape SEGA's original SOR2
Man I tried this tool,It is really impressive,Credit to gsaurus,I tried Mapping Shiva's Sprites to Axel and Results are really impressive,what more needed in this tool is to create extra slots for playable characters so that you will not have to swap the four hero characters,I just hope its not impossible.I'm looking forward to see some hacks by the Community Members,guys make sure you try this tool,You will just have to mess around and you will understand almost everything.

Oh and can someone explain me how to map external sprites(from png) at a particular frame,I can do Sprites mapping from the game itself using Art addresses but I am having big trouble doing this with a png,I want to Create SOR2 rom with SOR3 sprites,Any help will be appreciated.

This is the way I recommend:


You can use the buttons on the bottom to import images for a single frame though. The difference between "replace from image/spritesheet" and "generate from image/spritesheet" is that replace uses the current map, it's more like putting a skin over the current map, while generate creates a new map at the end of the rom.

You can get the complete sor3/bk3 sprites here, generated with another program of mine.

Okay now I'm confused What happens at 0:32 in this video,is that some other image editing program he is using to overwrite Zan on Axel?

Is it possible to add extra animations and new button commands to the characters, so that we can create entirely new moves.

Or is it like a skin editor, i.e. take what moves and animation slots that are already in the game and tweak them to create a new looking move (like people used to do with fpg edit on sor remake v4)

It would be great if we could add new moves and button commands, Ive always wanted to make someone like blaze clones from sor1 as a playable character, and make them true to the originals, i.e. have a new button command added so that they can backflip evade and high summersault, which playable blaze couldnt actually do.

none the less this is great news for the SOR community. I can see some crazy mods being made available soon
