Very nice.

Yeah Harada is so awesome when it comes to DLC policies and such. He said he'll never make people pay for characters or things important to the game.

Also, Michelle's art.

Considering Julia lost her geeky/tribal flair she had with that hideous Jaycee persona, I must say now that I'm completely enthralled by Michelle. I'm an avid Chang player (besides a Williams player) so now getting Michelle back makes me happy.

Sorry Julia, your moms it's hotter. You can stick with Bob... or Ganny, lol! XD

The Snoop Dogg stage looks pretty tacky and ghetto if you ask me.

Though I'm really loving Kuni and Michelle. <3

Officla Snoop track's out. Cameos of the same ass licking fighting game "celebs".

I dunno... can't say I like it, it feels shoehorned, doesn't feel like Tekken at all. Milking out publicity?

'sides, Snoop have lost tons of his coolness as he started to produce crap and feature with cheap-ass pseudo rappers and other shit... but that a hiphop discussion so might go offtopic.

More like ass kicking. J Wong is a beast for being able to place well in majors for just about every fighting game imaginable.

But yeah other than that I agree, Snoop hasn't been cool since Def Jam: Fight for New York. I'm grateful for the publicity though.

So I've been listening to the OST for this game, and I think this will be the best Tekken soundtrack since 3.

I feel the original TTT had a better OST from what I've heard. But this is the best OST in the Tekken series in a long time for sure.

Tbh I hated the TTT OST, the only songs I liked were Xiaoyu's stage and Ogre's Stage, and I don't even like them anymore lol. But pretty much every song on the OST is something I can listen to while not playing and actually enjoy.

I do wish we got more T2 and T3 remixes though. Nostalgia in music = <3

I just wish we got more OSTs with the quality that the original three had. Something that dropped (IMO) a bit in TTT, and was lost completely from 4 onwards.

Since chars stopped getting individual stages/themes, the music lost a bit of personality. It kinda gave us insight on what kind of music the character likes to listen to, or what would play if they were featured in a movie etc. That's one thing dislike about modern fighters, they've pretty much abolished the idea of char specific stages, which in turn takes a ton of individuality from each character.

100% agree with both of you - my favourite Tekken OST has always been 3, with the PS remixes taking the crown - I think they were pretty cutting-edge and distinctive when they came out actually, and still sound fantastic. There were some really quirky mid-tempo tracks added in there - which sadly seem to have fallen out of fashion - for the likes of Mokujin (taking riffs from other characters' music - great reference), Gun Jack, Doctor B. And the whole PS soundtrack seemed to gel extremely well.

TTT1 was quite a bit weaker to me, although the PS2 version of Ogre's stage was a triumph...

4 had its moments, and its strength was probably in the range of styles. It certainly didn't have the edge, but all the same, there are some good ideas - and it generally avoided moving into more common dance music styles or movie-like orchestral arrangements which have crept in since.

TTT2 has moments where it falls into that trap (albeit some inherited from previous series' mixes). But it's balanced by a bunch of interesting stuff - there's the remix of the Tekken 4 Arena which sounds great and is really respectful to the original feel, plus the nods to some of the older tracks. And the ambient synthetic sound in the Heavenly Garden is a very well-made piece of stage music.

I suspect I'm the only one with this view, but Heavenly Garden looks like some weird dream of a Tekken stage... Where you're imagining playing the game and the colours are wrong or altered, and things look 'off'... Deliberate design yes, but that was my genuine first impression. Esp seeing Angel shooting a laser into the purple sky - I honestly think Tekken is going to have a hard time coming up with anything as surreal as that in future!

Couldn't have said it better myself. T3 music was so well designed. Especially the PS1 ost. For example listen to King's theme, the intro is perfect for his stage, it feels a bit cold, but it's beautiful, it gives you a second to take in the magnificence of the snowy mountaintops before you realize, "holy shit I have to fight right now" and the music drops into a more gritty aggressive style.

The song I listen to the most on the TTT2 ost is Heavenly Garden, and that's because it functions exactly like I just mentioned. It really gives you a feel for both the stage and the fight, though it takes a bit longer to drop. It reminds me a lot of Tekken 2 music but I haven't been able to pinpoint whether or not it's a remix.

imo, as far as soundtracks go

T3>T2/T1>TTT2>T4>TTT>DR>6>5

Well, for a Tekken OST lover i must say Heavenly Garden/Fallen Garden stage and music fits so well, the What will you see in Heavenly sounds more like a tranquil, yoga dreamy mediation track... that turns into a nightmarish tune in What will you see 2 in Fallen. I love that switch.

My only grpe is that the OST doesn't have What will you see 2 full, it finishes halfway... but because it's a double feature. :S
