It was over patents/copyright issues, nothing more. It's Megadrive in Europe and Japan.

yeah, genesis gets my vote. megadrive just sounds so, commercially 90's, where they put MEGA in front of something to make it sound cooler and more advanced than everything else.

I agree. The Megadrive is such a fucking boring name TBH.

Everybody knows it was called Genesis in North America because Phil Collins worked for SEGA at the time.

DOUBLE POST. FOR GREAT JUSTICE.

Gameloft is actually going to REMAKE Earthworm Jim for XBLA/PSN/WiiWare. I guess they won't choose to release the original game as-is now.

Ah well, I was sort of expecting the winner of the contest to get some special treatment.

Makes you wonder what sort of upgrade any of the other games would have received. Heck I'd pay for Streets of Rage HD Remix or even HD Remake of Shining Force.

But the original Earthworm Jim still holds up well in it's sprite style to this day. Let's hope they do the game justice. Instead of slap some sort of Hi-Res / graphical blur filter on top and call it a day.

Since EJ has been bought by Gameloft, Sega has no choice but to remove EJ from its poll, which means ToeJam&Earl is now first
