Yup, I guess many of the people here likes movies, so here i could be a nice place for announcements, news and general discussion about cinema.

Here are some news.

Mike Bison, Charlie Nash and Gen have been anounced in the cast of the new Chun Li's SF Live action movie.

UK, February 19, 2008 - Fox has begun fleshing out the cast of the new Street Fighter movie, with most of the main roles now filled for the videogame adaptation.

According to Variety, Kristin Kreuk – most famous for playing Lana Lang in Smallville - has been cast as the film's main character; Chun-Li.

Micheal Clarke Duncan, who previously starred in The Green Mile, seems well cast as boxer Balrog, whilst Chris Klein (American Pie) will play Nash, and Rick Yune (Die Another Day) is master assassin Gen.

Also cast in as-yet-unspecified roles are Moon Bloodgood (Journeyman), the Black Eyed Peas' Taboo and Hong Kong film star Cheng Pei Pei.

Apparently the producers are still searching for the right man to play sinister villain and "Psycho Power" exponent M. Bison.

As we reported last year, Romeo Must Die and Exit Wounds director will helm the project, although we're more excited that Hong Kong fight choreographer Dion Liam - who worked on The Matrix - has been signed up to oversee the fight sequences.

Few plot details have been released thus far, although we do know that the film has nothing to do with the woeful 1994 Street Fighter movie, which starred Jean-Claude Van Damme and Kylie Minogue.

The pic is set to begin filming in March, while the next installment in the game franchise, Street Fighter IV, is released this summer.

Prepare the sorts of rotten tomatoes in your nearest cinema.

In other news:

Gambit and Deadpool confirmed in incoming Wolverine film.

Gambit is

Taylor Kitsch and IMO he has the Gambit look so he might be able to pull it off.

As for everybody's fav. Merc with the Mouth, he is played by-
Image

Ryan Reynolds....yeah. Now before any of you go pulling out your doorknobs and shit, remember that DP's always wearing a mask when on missions, so unless they do that here, feel free to fire away.

As for the movie itself-
Sabretooh will be played by a different actor.
Silver Fox will appear in the movie
It takes place about 2 decades before the 3 X-Men movies
It tells about Wolverine's life before and after the Weapon X program
The script writer commented on how the movie will have very little to do with the X-Men Trilogy movies or such
The movie will be released May 2009

Those actors cast for Wolverine's movie are on point... can't say so much the same for SF, IMO. But back to Wolverine, the plot looks awesome and I'm looking forward to watching it! :D

Well, all I can say about the SF movie is that I hope it will be great. Never been a big fan of X-Men though.

Same here... the Van Damme movie wasn't so great and I think there was a discussion about that here on the forums already.

I heard that Van Damme wants to make a sequel to his SF movie, apparently because of all his movies SF made the most money.

I don't know, a part of me would prefer to see a sequel to SF The Movie instead of the one they are making now.

I mean we all know its gonna suck anyway, might as well have Van Damme do the sucking.

wait that came out wrong..

 Lol! But yeah, it would be good to see Van Damme in it. Unless they can find someone with Guile's actual haircut! Btw, what happened to Van Damme? Retirement?

That, and drugs. Surely there's some correlation between the two. But at least Replicant was a decent film.

Your mentioning of the Replicant movie peaked my interest so i downloaded it,
just finished watching it, and i have to say.. that was a damn good movie.

Gonna get it on DVD tomorrow, together with all the other Van Damme movies i can find.

I've actually been meaning of getting his movies, sure we joke about Van Damme now and then,
but his movies always deliver, and thats a good action packed movie.
