This video looks great. I like the improvements in the level and Yamato.

Wow! Looks like a big step-up from V4. I hope we get the game before the holidays. Gosh... I'm gonna be gaming all day now  Cod Black Ops, and Streets Of Rage Remake, 2 games i absolutely love.

I'm joking obviously. Looking forward to the release, I'm sure it will be awesome. :D

If it does come out by christmas, then it'll easily be THE big freeware release of the holiday season - kinda an extra big helping of holiday cheer and face-punching from that jolly old guy in red, and that's why I'm really hoping it does come out in the next month or so.

It really does sound like it's pretty much complete at this point, and they're just at the bug-hunting and fine-tuning phase, which is often the most draining on developers as it requires ridiculously intensive playtesting on something you already know inside and out.

Here's the answer from the SoRR Development Blog:
SoRR Development Blog (Feb. 03, 2010) wrote:18 PLAYABLE CHARACTERS

* More than 1500 custom sprites created for the Remake (250 per set)
* All of the characters from the saga
* All of the SoR versions remastered
* All of the special moves from SoR3 available for all of the characters versions
* New moves for all of the characters

Make sure to ask any other questions in the Questions topic  .

P.S. For the record, there are now 19 Playable Characters. One was added.

Haha, yeah! You can never have too much fun during the holidays.

I actually hooked up my old Sega Genesis and played Streets of Rage 2 today, and i had a great time. Hoping it would fix my, "Streets of Rage craving" but all it did was make me even more anxious

Quick question for you seeing as your already in this topic, and online... i assume some of these 19 characters will be enemies, such as abadede, or souther. (basically people that were originally enemies in the game) So, will all 19 Playable characters show up on the character select screen, or will the originally enemy characters be in a section. (example: there are all the main characters boxes like axel, blase, etc. and then there is a square that says, "Enemies". Once you click that, and then a tab of those enemies will appear)

Thanks for any help you can provide

Once you unlock a playable character they will appear dynamically on the character select screen in the order they were unlocked. You will find the answers to all your questions in the development blog. If not, please post in the questions about SorR topic and keep this one for discussing updates please.

Since Charco already answered Noob-Smoke's question, I'll move on to another interesting tidbit I noticed from the Yamato video that was in both BKIII and SoR3.
____________________________________

When the Yamato clones get a guaranteed knockdown on a playable character, the 2nd Yamato clone and/or the original Yamato do a congratulatory wave in response. Here are the: SoR3 [0:59-1:01] and SoRR V5 [0:37-0:41] versions to compare. I'm glad to see that the small things like this will be in V5.

Seeing the Yamatos' wave did make remember that BKIII/SoR3 Jet can deploy mines from his jetpack, although in BKIII, where I first saw this, he only did it once. I hope this rare move will make it in V5.

By the way, has anyone else seen BKIII/SoR3 Jet deploy mines before :| ? I can't be the only, can I :? ?

EDIT 1: Actually, I just find a BKIII video where Jet deploys the mines  ! Here it is :o !!! [0:32-0:42]

Now, everyone can see it  !

EDIT 2: Whoops  ! Yamato can also do a congratulatory wave in BKIII.

Which one: Yamato's wave, Jet's mines, or both?

Metafogos wrote:I see this minning attack only once.

I knew I wasn't the only person who saw the mine attack 8) !

Also, thanks for revamping the BKIII item containers. I always hated the sound and the way they disappeared in BKIII.

Thanks for the update :) !

That's why this going to be one of the greatest fangames in gaming history, because of the amazing attention to detail.

After this game is released any "remake" of any other game will now have to include this in their title.
